Thumb Area-Michigan Works! provides job training assistance for Tuscola, Huron, Sanilac, and Lapeer county residents. Funded by the Federal Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) Thumb Area - Michigan Works! offers employment development opportunities for eligible youth and adults. The EDC works with Michigan Works! to help employers find qualified employees.

The Thumb Area-Michigan Works! Agency provides free job training assistance for Tuscola and Lapeer County residents. The Tuscola County EDC works closely with this agency in helping employers find qualified employees for no charge. The EDC works with a Workforce Development Specialist that works exclusively with the Michigan Job Bank/Talent Bank to help meet the needs of area employers.

The Michigan Talent Bank/Job Bank and Michigan Works! Service Centers offer the convenience of electronic access to the internet. Along with convenience we offer personal, one-on-one service and we can walk you through your questions and give you trouble-shooting tips. Most importantly, we help employers contact job seekers free. According to the most recent survey data, more than one-third of job seekers using the Michigan Talent Bank had a job within 90 days.
