Men's fellowship breakfast
The Men's Fellowship Breakfast from the Avon United Methodist Church will be held on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant on Detroit Road in Sheffield Village.
Evening book discussion
The Avon Branch Library will conduct adult evening book discussions Wednesdays at 7 p.m., beginning Dec. 1. Registration should be made by calling 934-4743.

Avon High School's National Honor Society ceremony will be Friday, Dec. 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the school auditorium.
Youth basketball sign-ups
Parents wanting information about Little Eagles basketball sign-ups are urged to call Avon City Recreation Coordinator Donna Rusian, 934-5044 or 937-1093. The season is scheduled to run from Saturday, Dec. 4 through March 18.
PTU craft fair at St. Mary
St. Mary's PTU will sponsor its annual Craft Nook, Saturday, Dec. 4 in the church school hall, 2680 Stoney Ridge Road. The event begins at 9 a.m. Admission is $1. Home cooked food and featuring Cat's Meow replicas of St. Mary Church and the older section of the school will be available.
Santa to attend Heritage Square tree lighting
He will light the Christmas tree near the new gazebo on the square at Detroit and Stoney Ridge roads. Afterward, residents can mingle with Santa at the old town hall across the street and enjoy carols performed by Avon High School's concert choir.
The event, organized by the French Creek Development Association, starts at 6 p.m.
The Avon High School choir recorded "The Messiah'' on compact disc. The CD costs $10, plus a $3 shipping fee. To place an order, call (440) 934-5038.
