Homecoming festivities
Avon High School's Homecoming festivities will be tomorrow night with a parade starting at Avon Village School at 6 p.m., followed by the football game at 7 p.m. with Wellington High School at Avon Middle School, Stoney Ridge Road. The Homecoming dance will be held at Avon High School Commons on Saturday at 8 p.m., at which time the homecoming king and queen will be honored.
Fellowship group's breakfast
The Men's Fellowship Group of the Avon United Methodist Church will meet for breakfast next Saturday at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant at 7:30 a.m.

Church's chicken dinner, raffle
Holy Trinity Church 's annual Chicken Dinner and Raffle will be held next Sunday, noon to 5 p.m., at the church hall, 2610 Nagel Road. Tickets at the door are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under age 12. Complete dinner includes dessert and beverage. Carryouts available. For information, please call 937-6887.
Children's story times
Preschool Story Time for children ages 3 to 5 years of age will be held next week at the Avon Branch Library. Hours are Monday at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m. Preregistration is required by calling 934-4743.
Book discussion group
Adult Afternoon Book Discussions will be held next Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Avon Branch Library. The book to be discussed is Joseph Conrad's 'Heart Of Darkness.' Guests are invited to attend.
Canal history program
A program entitled 'Ohio Canal History' will be presented next Wednesday at the Avon Branch Library, by Michael Goldstein of the Laureate Workshop, at 7 p.m. The public is invited.
Boosters to meet
The Avon Band Boosters will meet next Wednesday at Avon High School at 7 p.m.
