City council meeting

Avon City Council will meet in regular session Monday at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall, located at the corner of Chester and Center Roads.

Veterans meeting set

The Avon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7035 will meet Thursday, May 27, at 8 p.m. Plans for the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 31, will be discussed. The parade kicks off at 9 a.m.

'Parenting our Parents' talk

A special program, ''Parenting our Parents,'' with speaker Kathleen Kapusta will begin at 11:30 a.m. next Sunday following the Avon United Methodist Church 10 a.m. worship service. The program will be held in the Barn, 37711 Detroit Road.

Autumn Rebels luncheon

Autumn Rebels will meet next Tuesday at noon for a catered luncheon at The Barn, followed by a program by the Avon High School Mixed Chorus, directed by Mrs. M. MacMasters. All adults, 50 and older are welcome. Reservations may be made by calling Sis Wernert at 934-4445. Cost is $5.75.

Sunday school begins

The Summer Sunday School for children preschool age through grade six will begin at the 10 a.m. worship hour Sunday, May 30, at the Avon United Methodist Church.

Today: Soft taco, refried beans, grapes

Friday: Cheese bread with marinara sauce, salad, peanut butter cookie

Monday: Chicken pattie on bun, pasta salad, mixed fruit

Tuesday: Ham, egg, and cheese biscuit, tator tots, orange juice

Wednesday: Pepperoni pizza, buttered peas, diced pears

Thursday: Spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, breadstick, sherbet

AVON MIDDLE/AVON HIGH

Today: Soft taco, refried beans, grapes

Friday: Cheese bread with marinara sauce, salad, peanut butter cookie
