Luncheon, officers installed
The Avon Research Club will meet tomorrow at Georgio's Restaurant, Lakewood, at 11:30 a.m. for their final luncheon of the year. Past President Jean Fischer will install the new officers for 1999-2000.
Autumn Rebels meeting
Autumn Rebels will meet Tuesday, May 25, at noon in The Barn, 37711 Detroit Road, beginning with a $5.75 catered lunch. All adults 50 and over are welcome. Reservations should be made with Sis Wernert at 934-4445 three days before the meeting. The program will be presented by the Avon High School Mixed Chorus, directed by Mrs. M. McMasters. Also, the group is planning a bus trip June 24 to Amish country. For more information, call John Vale at 934-5675.
Book discussion set
The Mother/Daughter Book Discussion will be Tuesday, May 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Avon Branch Library. Stop to register and pick up the selected book for discussion. There is no charge.

Artists works displayed
The Avon Friends of the Library continue to show local artists work through their Art Show, Saturday, May 22, during regularly scheduled library hours. The library is located at 37485 Harvest Drive.

''Introduction to the World Wide Web'' will be presented Thursday, May 27, at the Avon Branch Library at 2 p.m. Register by calling 934-4743. The free program is open to all ages.
Scholastic awards night
Avon High School will be holding its annual Scholastic Awards Evening next Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The event is sponsored by the Avon Women's Club, Avon Lions Club, Academic Booster Club, and Avon High School.
Historical society's open house
The Avon Historical Society will celebrate its 35th anniversary with an open house Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m., in Old Town Hall. Everyone is invited to hear the Talking Quilt Video and the updated version of the Avon Story. Refreshments will be served. The Old Town Hall is located at the corner of Stoney Ridge and Detroit roads.
School board to meet
The Avon Board of Education will meet next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Village School Library
