VFW tailgate steak fry
The Avon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7035 will have a tailgate steak fry Sunday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in the post home, 35960 Mills Road. Advance tickets are available at the post for $8.
Ladies auxiliary meeting
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Avon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7035 will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the post home. Plans for the holiday season will be discussed, including the 300 bears donated to the auxiliary junior unit to be distributed to sick children in area hospitals.
Investment Club meeting
The Detroit Road Investment Club will meet Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the Avon United Methodist Church. Guests are welcome.

AVON EAST/AVON VILLAGE
Today: Cheeseburger, French fries, orange wedges
Friday: French toast sticks, sausage patty, hashbrowns, fruit juice
Monday: Hoagie sandwich, Fritos, celery sticks with dip, diced pears
Tuesday: Grilled cheese, tomato soup, dill pickle slices, fruit
Wednesday: Cheese pizza, green beans, cherry crisp
Thursday: Roast turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, buttered corn, roll with butter, cinnamon apple slices
AVON MIDDLE/AVON HIGH
Today: Double cheeseburger, French fries, fruit
Friday: French toast sticks, sausage patty, hashbrowns, fruit juice
Monday: Hoagie sandwich, Fritos, celery sticks with dip, diced pears
Tuesday: Chicken patty on bun with lettuce and tomato, baked beans, fruit shape-up
Wednesday: Meatball hoagie, green beans, cherry crisp
Thursday: Roast turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, roll with butter, buttered corn, cinnamon apple slices
Parent-teacher conferences
Avon Middle School and Avon High School will have parent-teacher conferences, Nov. 17 and 18. Schedules will be set up. Early dismissal will be held at Avon Village School, Nov. 17, Avon East Elementary School, at 2:20 p.m., one hour prior to regular dismissal time.
Adult book talk
The Afternoon Adult Discussion Group will meet Tuesday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. at the Avon Branch Library. The book to be discussed will be 'Cloud Splitter.' New members are welcome.
