``Church celebrates anniversary
Faith Lutheran Church will observe its 40th anniversary Nov. 11 with special services at the 9:30 a.m. service, followed by a luncheon at noon in Avon Village School. A few tickets are available and can be obtained by calling the church office, 934-4701.The program will feature TV Channel 3's Obie Shelton and his Gospel violin.
Autumn Rebels luncheon
Autumn Rebels will meet noon Nov. 13 for a $6.25 lunch in The Barn, 37711 Detroit Road. The program will include DJ Charlie and his music. Reservations can be made by calling Sis Wernert, 934-4445, three days before the event.
Lorain Lighthouse talk
The Avon Research Club will meet 1 p.m. tomorrow in the home of Margaret Peak. The speaker will be Richard Novak who will discuss the Lorain Lighthouse.
Investment club to meet
The Detroit Road Investment Club will meet 11 a.m. Nov. 11 following services at the Avon United Methodist Church. Guests are welcome.
Seniors advisory commission
The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission will meet 7 p.m. Nov. 14 in EMH Rehab Center, Healthway Drive.
Veterans Day service
Special programming for Veterans Day will be Nov. 11 at Avon United Methodist Church. It will feature the Solid Brass musical group as part of the service at 10 a.m.

Flu shots given
The adult health clinic flu shots will be available in The Barn, 37711 Detroit Road, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 14. Cost is $5 or free when the Medicare form is completed.
Students `Get Smart'
The play, ''Get Smart,'' will be presented by Avon students at Avon High School this weekend. Performances will be 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. The public is invited. ''
