City Council meeting
Avon City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, in regular session. Avon City Hall is at 36080 Chester Road.
Book discussion group
Adult Book Discussion Group will meet next Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. in the Avon Branch Library, 37485 Harvest Drive. New members are welcome.
Mother/daughter book discussion
Girls in the fourth grade and their mothers are invited to attend the mother/daughter book discussion at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Avon Branch Library. Pre-register and pick up your copy of the book at the library, 37485 Harvest Drive.
Avon Women's Club
The Avon Women's Club is accepting applications for its annual $500 scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior who lives in Avon.
Application forms are available from the Avon High School guidance office or by calling Helen Schatschneider at (440) 937-5075. Completed applications must be received by April 21.
Four scholarships are available from the Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs. They are in the fields of art, communications, allied health and teaching or library. The deadline for applications is Feb. 22.
The Avon Student Fund Loan is available to Avon residents who have completed their first quarter or semester beyond the high school level. For information or an application, write to Avon Student Loan Fund, in care of Avon Women's Club, P.O. Box 2, Avon 44011.
Antique show scheduled
'The Heart of Avon Antique Show' will be Sunday, March 26, at Tom's Country Place, 3442 Stoney Ridge Road, Avon, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $4. For more information, call (440) 934-6366
