Lunch menu choices
Here's a look at the Avon schools lunch menu from March 16 to 23:
AVON VILLAGE
Today: Cheeseburger macaroni, tossed salad, applesauce
Friday: Garlic breadsticks with marinara sauce, mozzarella cubes, apple juice
Monday: Steak nuggets, mashed potatoes with country gravy, green beans, roll and butter, fruit cocktail
Tuesday: Peanut butter and jelly on graham crackers, soup, orange wedges
Wednesday: Cheese pizza, tossed salad, grape juice
Thursday: French toast sticks, sausage patty, hashbrown, orange juice
AVON MIDDLE
Today: Barbecue beef sandwich, pea salad, diced peaches
Friday: Fish sandwich, fries, Jell-O, brownie
Monday: Steak nuggets, mashed potatoes with country gravy, green beans, roll with butter, fruit cocktail
Tuesday: Stacked turkey sandwich, soup with crackers, orange wedges
Wednesday: Fiestada, tossed salad, grape juice
Thursday: French toast sticks, sausage links, hashbrown, orange juice
AVON HIGH
Today: Ham and cheese croissant with Dijon sauce, Caesar salad
Friday: Irish stew or fish sandwich, fries, cherry kuchen
Monday: Steak nuggets, mashed potatoes with country gravy, roll with butter
Tuesday: Spaghetti with meat sauce, soft breadstick, salad
Wednesday: Meatball submarine, tator tots
Thursday: Chicken soft taco, bean dip and chips
Register for Safety Town
The Avon Village PTA will be offering Safety Town for children entering kindergarten in the fall. The first session will be June 12 to 16; second session, June 19 to 23. Each session runs daily for two hours. There will be three time periods to pick from: 8 to 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., or 1 to 3 p.m. You may register for Safety Town during kindergarten screening, March 20, 21 or 22, during school hours from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Avon Village school. Library's book sale
Book sale bargains will be available at the Avon Branch Library tomorrow, noon to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. The sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Avon Library.
Garden Club meeting
The Avon Garden Club will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Avon High School. Water gardening will be featured. Guest speaker is William Schrauf, an area landscaper. The public is invited.
St. Patty's Day bash
A St. Patrick's Day celebration will be tomorrow at the Avon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7035, 36950 Mills Road. There will be corned beef sandwiches and dancing.
School's Fun Fair
The Annual Fun Fair of Avon Village School PTA will be Saturday, March 18 from 1 to 4 p.m.
There will be games, prizes, and performances for children who attend.
