KHS Teens for Christ

Teens for Christ is a club at Kinder High School that is open to all students. There are no requirements for a student to become a member. This is a group of teenagers who are not ashamed to stand up and say that Jesus Christ is their personal Lord and Savior. They have been able to cross the religion barriers that have so often caused division among Christians by keeping all meetings non-denominational.

Members of Teens for Christ meet twice a week before school. The president, Chrisy Young, and the vice-president, Steven Haney, are in charge of planning each meeting. At each meeting a student leads a devotional by sharing scriptures from the Bible and discusssing them. Afterwards, they all come together in a circle and pray for the needs of others. They also pray for our government leaders, church leaders, and teachers. Aside from Bible studies and prayer, they sometimes have skits and times of praising God with singing and music.

The goal of the Teens for Christ members is to reach out to as many students as possible. They have devoted the first few months of this school year to focusing on witnessing. Several scriptures concerning this have been presented to the club to help clarify God's desire and command for us to reach out to a lost and dying world.

Their desire is to show the love of Jesus to those who are hurting and are searching for love and acceptance. They are not simply a "religious group" but a group of teenagers who have accepted God's gift of love and want to let others know that they can receive it too.
