The Character Counts Club of Kinder High School is a 4-H sponsored club, but it does not mean that one has to be in 4-H to be involved. Several students are selected to participate in this organization. The students must attend a workshop that prepares them for a classroom environment.

The people who are involved provide role models for younger children by teaching them "good character qualities." We have over 50 high school students participating for the 2002-2003 school year in Character Counts. We will be teaching grades from kindergarten through sixth grade. Lessons will be taught on respect, responsibility, caring, trustworthiness, fairness, citizenship, and decision making. The program will begin in October and end in April. Character education is very important in our society today. We are fortunate to have so many high school students interested in making a difference with our youth.
