Ms. Nicole D. Fontenot has recently published a book entitled Cooking with Cajun Women. Her book contains recipes and remembraces from kitchens across South Louisiana. She spent two years interviewing Cajun women who grew up in the first half of the 20th century. The cookbook, featuring more than 300 recipes, offers classic Cajun dishes like Seafood Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffee, and Pecan Pralines. Not only does the book contain recipes, but it also contains answers to questions often asked by non-cajuns.
Ms. Fontenot's book has been praised by the Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, as well as cookbook author, Marcelle Bienvenu. She is receiving high marks for her book. Kinder High School congratulates Ms. Fontenot on a job well done!
