Life

by David L. Allen

So you think that life has dealt you naught,
But mud within the eye.
The best that you were ever taught,
Says just to live until you die.

Don't make waves or rock the boat,
You'll only end up failing.
It's much less work to drown yourself,
Without your arms 'a flailing.

What's that you say? Your hands are tied?
There's nothing you can do?
I think you'd find that if you tried,
The Son would see you through.
