LAND
by David L. Allen
They treat the land like dirt today,
It gives my heart great sorrow.
It's shorn and torn and washed away,
What think they of tomorrow?
They say a man can own the land,
And use it as he please.
Yet what is Land? Earth, water, sun...
What does he know of these?
If only land could be lived with,
Instead of just upon,
We'd see a better life for all,
With man and earth as one.
