Feline Behavior Workshop - previously held on May 30th What a great day and a great class! The seminar was held by Betsy Tipscomb, founder and president of the Wisconsin Cat Club. Also speaking was Angela, who is currently the president of the Animal Behavior Club at the University of WI-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, where she is pursuing a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree. A big thanks to the cooks...Rhea and Georgette who put together a delicious hot vegetarian meal for lunch. Cash Donation A $100.00 donation was delivered to A.S./A.P. from the Sparta Girl Scout Troop 366. The girls enjoyed the time visiting with the cats and kittens at A.S./A.P. Memorials We received several monetary memorials for deceased cats since the last newsletter. In memory of Samantha Jane owned by Diane and Mrs. Murphy owned by A.S./A.P. Thank you for these generous donations and we extend our sympathy to those who have lost a pet. |
Annual Membership & Dues (July date to be announced) A.S./A.P. is planning a "Work Day Picnic" to be held at A.S./A.P. We plan to fire up the barbecue grill and enjoy the afternoon! We also have a special project planned. A.S./A.P. received an outdoor cat run donated by a Lt. Colonel and his wife. Plans for the cage to be placed on cement blocks and placed outside behind the cattery are part of the "Work Day". We sure could use some helping hands to get this project completed! What's the old saying..."The more the merrier"! Membership application to follow in next newsletter. A Funny Thing Happened At A.S./A.P. A few months ago a beautiful silvery calico cat was staying at A.S./A.P. Low and behold she had a family of the most adorable kittens. One by one the kittens were adopted. Of course I was unable to resist and adopted what I thought was the cutest of the bunch..."Gizmo" a.k.a. "Pansy". So the story goes on...a woman comes by with her friend to look over some of the adoptable cats and kittens and spots this beautiful silvery calico and cannot believe her eyes. It's her "Sadie", she's been gone for almost a year!! Of course her "Sadie" remembered her as well and they were reunited! |
